1. Services

Prestige Painting Experts provides residential painting, surface preparation, and cleaning services. All work is performed at our discretion based on our professional assessment. We reserve the right to decline work we consider unsuitable or unsafe.

2. Quotes and Pricing

Quotes are provided after a physical site inspection. All quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Prices may change if the actual work required differs from the initial assessment. We notify you of any price changes before proceeding.

3. Deposits and Payment

For contracts under $20,000, we collect a deposit of up to 10% before commencing work. For contracts over $20,000, the deposit is limited to 5% in accordance with the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995 (Vic). Progress payments are invoiced at agreed milestones. Final payment is due on completion. We accept bank transfer, cash, and card payment.

4. Scheduling

Start dates and completion estimates are provided in good faith. Weather conditions, supply delays, or unexpected site conditions may affect timelines. We communicate any changes as soon as they arise.

5. Warranty

We provide a 5-year workmanship warranty on all completed projects. This covers peeling, cracking, or flaking caused by our application. The warranty does not cover damage from impact, structural movement, water ingress, or failure to maintain surfaces. The warranty is void if another contractor modifies our work.

6. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for providing access to the property, clearing furniture and personal items from work areas where practical, and notifying us of any known hazards including lead paint, asbestos, or structural defects.

7. Cancellation

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled start date incur no charge. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a cancellation fee to cover materials purchased and scheduling disruption.

8. Liability

We carry $10 million public liability insurance. While we take all reasonable care, we are not liable for pre-existing damage to surfaces, damage caused by structural defects, or colour variations between samples and final results due to lighting conditions. We advise you of any risks identified during our inspection.

9. Dispute Resolution

If you are not satisfied with our work, contact us within 7 days of completion. We inspect the concern and remedy any workmanship issue at no additional cost. If we cannot resolve the dispute, either party may apply to Consumer Affairs Victoria or the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).

10. Domestic Building Insurance

For projects valued at $16,000 or more, we obtain Domestic Building Insurance (DBI) before commencing work, as required by Victorian law. A certificate of DBI is provided to you before the project starts

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on our website.
